BEHIND HIS                                                                                   CHARACTER

Born and raised in Boulder, Colorado,

Justin's first acting experience came about after he answered an audition call for a local dinner theater. With no more than a Polaroid of himself, he attained the lead child role of Louis in The King and I. After this performance, more roles called and he eventually gained classical theatrics training for his roles in Shakespeare's Henry V and Richard III. Justin eventually surfed a wave of fame in commercial modeling; landing an important ad campaign for Nautica, who featured Justin boasting outdoor gear on their website and in 7-story billboards in Times Square as well as Chicago and Boston. Television talk-show host Roseanne saw one of these ads and booked him as a guest on her show where she put him through a dating-game. Other commercial jobs included a national commercial for Nintendo's Gameboy, a stint on Family Feud and Hollywood Squares.

Justin first came to the attention of The Bold and Beautiful when his agent submitted a tape for a different role. The casting agents remembered him when they were recasting the  lead character of Rick Forrester.  . After more than 740 episodes of B&B, Justin decided to step back and enjoy the slower pace of life, eventually returning to Boulder and rekindling his love for cars. Specifically, his classic Toyota Land Cruiser. Justin also took this self imposed hiatus to mentor and guide students at the University of Colorado

During his stint in Boulder, Justin continued to build upon his community volunteering by working with Film students from the University of Colorado Boulder. Over the past few years, Justin has not only starred in student shorts and continues to do so, but he also used his knowledge of the industry to educate aspiring directors, DPs, screenwriters, and actors on the ins and outs of the industry.

Justin has returned to Los Angeles after a self imposed hiatus and is currently exploring new opportunities on both the small and large screen.

Undermined - Student Short Film

Contracted by a gold mine to eradicate a mysterious species of inhabitants, a self-proclaimed mythical beast wrangler must face his most harrowing challenge yet in order to save the mine and continue his perfect record. 2nd Place Winner of the Virgil Grillo Award ____________________ CAST: Justin Torkildsen Casey Cass CREW: Patrick Wine Ivan How Gabe Kawamura Alec Balstad Bryce Taylor Joshua Contreras Angela Wilke Sam Kallick Isabel Castellanos Paul Hintgen ____________________ Undermined was produced for the University of Colorado at Boulder Cinema Studies and Moving Image Arts 3400 production course with professor Emilie Upzcak. The production began as a horror film following a mythical beast wrangler, AKA a conman, as he attempts to con a mining superintendent. However, two days before principal photography was slated to begin, the original mine changed the allowed hours of production, hindering hour ability to create a quality film. Thankfully, we located the Capital Prize Gold Mine, located in Georgetown, Colorado, and managed to solidify a wonderful schedule. Unfortunately, once principal photography began, we ran into a sleuth of problems. For starters, the calcium carbide lamp on Arthur's (Justin Torkildsen) helmet kept catching on fire, causing multiple delays. Then, the humidity in the mine repeatedly fogged the lenses. Watching the production fall apart, I decided to change the narrative of the film as to complete it and still make a quality product for the production course. We managed to create a story based on the happenings of principal photography and complete the film you are watching. All in all, we managed to create an award-winning film with a sleuth of problems. I attribute this to our wonderful cast, crew, and mining advisors/managers. ____________________ SPECIAL THANKS TO: Paul Hintgen & Capital Prize Gold Mine Emilie Upzack Justin Torkildsen Casey Cass Angela Wilke ____________________ MUSIC: "London Fog" - MONST3R YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvdiib6AzBfRcgB8cH9fmzA ____________________ Filmed Using: Black Magic Ursa Mini 4k Black Magic Ursa Mini 4.6k ____________________ Patrick's Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/ThePatrickWine/ ----- Amaranthine Studios Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/AmaranthineE... ----- Patrick's Instagram & Twitter: @PatrickMWine ----- Amaranthine Studios Instagram & Twitter: @AmaranthStudios ----- For screening requests please call (316)-768-0331 ----- Copyright Patrick Wine & Amaranthine Studios © 2019. ____________________
